A NEGLECTED ASPECT OF HEALTH
There are 2 aspects of health in the human nature that are not taken seriously. They are MENTAL HEALTH and DIET. Today, I am going to talk about mental health, the next article after this will be on diet. Please take note of the fact that mental health is not the same as mental illness. Most times the word 'mental health' is used to depict a good mental condition. Nevertheless, the World Health Organization (WHO) stress that MENTAL HEALTH IS “MORE THAN JUST THE ABSENCE OF MENTAL DISORDERS OR DISABILITIES.” So, what is mental health? Mental health refers to emotional, psychological, and social well-being . It affects how we THINK, FEEL, and ACT. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. It is worthy of note that mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
