EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE Part 2

Image
Emotional intelligence is very powerful and essential, yet undervalued in our society and among people. The importance of emotional intelligence in all interpersonal relationships cannot be over emphasized. Let's take a look at different works of life and the importance of emotional intelligence to thrive in them.  🔑 1. Workplace: A lack of emotional intelligent skills result in workplace conflicts and misunderstanding. This dynamic often stems from an inability to recognize or comprehend emotions. It is one of the most sought-after interpersonal skill in the work place. Note: A popularly cited survey from 2011 showed that 71% of employers valued emotional intelligence in an employee over IQ. In fact, 59% of employers would not hire someone if they had a high IQ but low EI.   🔑 2. Education: The importance of Emotional intelligence (EI) in education is seen in the ability to identify, name and manage emotions. This provides the learner with foundation for problem-solvi...

SELF AWARENESS

Image
Never really thought of the severity of this until now, but it's the truth...  Happenings around will control you & play on your subconscious IF YOU DON'T HAVE A MIND OF YOUR OWN. The only way you can have a mind of your own is through self awareness or self discovery. SELF AWARENESS is key. When you know who you are, you are not easily swayed, influenced or cajoled. You need to know yourself, then you won't loose yourself no matter the push and pull. Have a mind of your own, don't allow every wind of doctrine to control and toss you around. Most people don't have a mind of their own.  THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE... Affecting countless lives. I remember my early days as a teenager, one of the topics I write about mostly even back then was: "Who are you?" (I hope to dissect that topic again one of these days)  So many people don't go on a journey of self discovery.  Life generally becomes more difficult because they don't know who they are. The fact...

THE OPPORTUNITIES YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN

Image
In life, there are times when opportunities are either given to us or handed down to us. Opportunities given are the ones you get NOT because you are related or affiliated to the the giver. Opportunities handed down are the ones you get BECAUSE OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP or affiliation to the giver. Some have been given opportunities that has turned them into billionaires. Maybe all they needed was capital to bring their ideas into reality. They get the money and boom! They become rich. This happened because they did not waste the opportunity they were given. They used it well, and become successful as a result. Many people have gotten some huge opportunities that they've wasted. This happens when the opportunity looks like a small deal or it is just not looking like an opportunity.  Thomas Edison said "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work".  Take note, NOT ALL Opportunities WILL LOOK LIKE OPPORTUNITIES at first, so it is le...

BLESSINGS OF HELP

Image
Sometimes, even though we need help, we need to ignore our needs and reach out to others.   That is one of the greatest ways to fulfil God's commandment and He sure gives REWARDS for obedience. - - Image 1: A young man and a baby he rescued Image 2: Sometime later. Can you spot the difference in his own looks too. He sure looks better than he did before he helped the child. Image 3: Owwnnn! See how the rescued baby looks now🥺🥺🥺🥰❤️. My Thought

Image
Just wondering... Why is it that most rich people prefer to help their fellow rich? Most humans like to assist only those that can also be of assistance to them? Why can't you just help without expecting the one you helped to return the favor? Why have we turned THE MINISTRY OF HELP TO: "HELP ME, I HELP YOU" . Is that what religion teaches now? Is that what life and living is now based on? It is quite pathetic that some people have this wrong perspective; before they render any assistance, they gauge whether the one who needs it is capable of repaying it. Na this one dey pain me pass Have you noticed that if a rich man/woman is going to a fellow rich's party, they give expensive gift(s) like cars as birthday gift, wedding gift etc? But if the same rich man attends the party of one that is not wealthy or 'rich enough', they present gifts like bucket, glass cup, or 'baff'. Haba! This is not good enough! Give and expect your reward from God, because the...

A 'Shareful' GIVER

Image
SHARE It is good to share with others from your wealth of knowledge. The more you give, the more you get. Sharing makes you feel the need to learn more and share more. And the more you share, the more your eyes are open to more. Infact, you even learn from what you say or write, as the case may be. And there'll be this excitement of knowing that if you learn more, you'll be able to share more. By extension, you will pant after more knowledge. By going after more, you become more knowledgeable and confident. That is the joy of sharing. Don't be selfish with what you know! SHARE! Elizabeth Oduwaiye .
