THE STICKERS THAT SPEAK

Image
The stickers (or do I call them picture messages?) attached to this write up were gotten from candy. They look like messages gotten from more 'serious' sources but no. They are a part of candy wrapper. The truth is that I was amazed when I saw them too.  There was this particular day I wouldn't say was one of my best days. I had many issues I was worrying about. I was bothered. It felt as if I had reached the crossroads. In essence, I wasn't my usual bubbly self. I needed encouragement. I needed succour, I needed to be strengthened because I was weak. I was tired! So tired of the whole situation.  As I was deep in thought, my children informed me that they wanted to go get some candies. I said they could. They did and when they came back, and were done unwrapping the candies, I saw these papers in this picture in their hands. It will interest you to know that, immediately I saw these papers, my mood improved significantly. I got the message. I believe everything worked...

YOUR FUTURE IS BRIGHT

Image
I remember when my youngest child was still one year and some months old. She used to sing to me and say: "Mummy, roll it up, roll it up.  Roll it up and let it go. Excellent! Excellent!  You are the best And your future is bright". Well, I loved the song. That is simply because, though I am an adult, I believe in a bright future. I believe things can be better for me tomorrow even if they look gloomy today.  Just like I wrote in an article 2 years ago, I will say the same thing today.   "You should know what you want to become in the future and then start working towards it now". "THAT IS BECAUSE THERE IS A FUTURE FOR YOU AS LONG AS YOU ARE STILL ALIVE". No be only small small children get bright future.  This is the kind of positive mindset that yields results. Beautiful results! Admirable results! The truth is that: a living dog is better than a dead lion. As long as you have life, keep the hope alive. Keep it burning. Yes! That's it! We move!...

TAKE THINGS EASY

Image
CALM DOWN Take things easy. It's one day at a time. Abeg no wound yourself. Nobody's life is perfect. The difference between you and the other person's countenance is determined by how well they have mastered the act of putting on a beautiful smile despite all odds. OLUWATOBILOBA

Image
OLUWATOBILOBA Ayomide Amusan is a Nigerian track and field athlete who specializes in the 100 metres hurdle and also competes as a sprinter.  During her last 100 metres run at the World Athletic Championship, she made it in record time of 12 seconds, setting for herself, Nigeria and the entire world a new record. She is a 25 years old lady born by teacher parents on the 23rd April 1997.   In 2016, Amusan twitted this on Twitter "Unknown now, but soon, I will be UNFORGETTABLE... I will Persist until I SUCCEED...".  That was 6 years ago.  She was just 19 years old then. But SHE WAS A 19 YEARS OLD LADY WITH A VISION. She was positive, resilient determined and most importantly DISCIPLINED.  2013, the athlete was disqualified at World Athletics U18 Championships in Donetsk, Ukraine, for lane infringement during the 200m semi-finals but she didn't allow that to deter or discourage her.  The disqualification instead made her think of other ways to succeed.  S...

A NEGLECTED ASPECT OF HEALTH

Image
There are 2 aspects of health in the human nature that are not taken seriously. They are MENTAL HEALTH and DIET. Today, I am going to talk about mental health, the next article after this will be on diet.  Please take note of the fact that mental health is not the same as mental illness.  Most times the word 'mental health' is used to depict a good mental condition.  Nevertheless, the World Health Organization (WHO) stress that MENTAL HEALTH IS “MORE THAN JUST THE ABSENCE OF MENTAL DISORDERS OR DISABILITIES.”  So, what is mental health? Mental health refers to  emotional, psychological, and social well-being . It affects how we THINK, FEEL, and ACT. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. It is worthy of note that mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. This is because a person's    mental health can be affected at any of these stages. Everyone has so...

THE AMENDED CURRENCY

Image
Some time back, I was able to put together a torn currency that was torn into five pieces, I mean five (5) different segments, but it was put back together to become whole again . It was so bad that it had two tiny pieces, but it was brought together to form one. The pieces were not even on the same spot, it was picked at different locations. The first time it was joined, a part was missing, but was search out, found and taped to the others. What situation is your life in right now that you think is beyond repair? I will like to assure you that IT IS NOT. Just like that currency was made whole again after being torn apart; torn to pieces, the pieces of your life can be brought back together as well. Even when it seems like there is no hope, CHOOSE TO BELIEVE. It is recorded in Job 14:7 that "there is hope for a tree if it be cut down, that it will sprout again and the tender branch thereof will not cease." A tree that has been cut down can still spring up and bud. It can gro...

I NEED YOU

Image
**************** One of the greatest lessons I have learnt in life is that I can't do things all on my own, neither can you. WE NEED PEOPLE. We really do. Let me use MOSES as a case study. When the Israelites were in the war front. Moses had the onus to perform his duty as the leader. Nevertheless, he couldn't do it on his own. He needed someone to help him to raise his hand up for the Israelites to win the battle (Exodus 17:8-16). Another instance was when Moses kept doing the leadership work all by himself. The workload was becoming too much for him alone. Thank God he had a father-in-law who could give him GOOD ADVICE AND COUNSEL (Exodus 18:17-27). Maybe he wouldn't have lived up to 120 years of age. God created us to interrelate and depend on one another. Nevertheless, some people prefer to do things all on their own. People who do this, do it for different reasons… it may be that they just like being independent, it may be because of pride, low self esteem, insecu...
