OLUWATOBILOBA Ayomide Amusan is a Nigerian track and field athlete who specializes in the 100 metres hurdle and also competes as a sprinter. 


During her last 100 metres run at the World Athletic Championship, she made it in record time of 12 seconds, setting for herself, Nigeria and the entire world a new record.



She is a 25 years old lady born by teacher parents on the 23rd April 1997.

 

In 2016, Amusan twitted this on Twitter "Unknown now, but soon, I will be UNFORGETTABLE... I will Persist until I SUCCEED...". 


That was 6 years ago. 


She was just 19 years old then. But SHE WAS A 19 YEARS OLD LADY WITH A VISION. She was positive, resilient determined and most importantly DISCIPLINED. 


2013, the athlete was disqualified at World Athletics U18 Championships in Donetsk, Ukraine, for lane infringement during the 200m semi-finals but she didn't allow that to deter or discourage her. 


The disqualification instead made her think of other ways to succeed. 


She demanded to know the other events she could enter for from the organizers and the 100m hurdles was suggested to her: she took it up with the feeling that she had nothing to lose.


She has other challenges like her 5"1 height and her dad's desire for her to be an academician, not an athlete. BUT SHE WAS UNSTOPPABLE! 


It wasn't all smooth for her, but HAVING A VISION AND RUNNING WITH PURPOSE MADE HER SUCCESSFUL. 

She could have given several excuses why she could not succeed, but she chose to keep moving despite all odds. 

Things are mostly not favourably in Nigeria today, but SHE HAS GIVEN US SOMETHING GOOD & ENCOURAGING TO TALK ABOUT. 

Her success and accomplishments cannot be overlooked. 

Don't be so shallow to look at SUCCESS and overlook it. Don't envy it. 

Look at where she started from, how she started and learn a lesson or two from it.

The suicide bombers are manipulated to carry out their dastardly act through what? WORDS! They are usually not forced to become suicide bombers, all their manipulators use are WORDS. YOU SEE THE POWER OF WORDS? God made the world through words. That means IF THE RIGHT WORDS CAN CREATE, THE WRONG WORDS CAN ALSO DESTROY WHAT HAS BEEN CREATED. Be mindful of what you say.

CELEBRATING IMPACT:- MR EMMANUEL

Mr. Emmanuel was one of my favourite teachers in secondary school. He was our Christian Religious Studies (CRS) teacher. HE WAS A VERY GOOD TEACHER. That subject he taught; CRS is a subject that most students usually find boring and uninteresting . But I can assure you that CRS is not boring, only the teacher teaching it can make it appear to be so. THE WAY AND MANNER A TEACHER TEACHES A SUBJECT CAN DETERMINE WHETHER STUDENTS WILL LIKE IT OR NOT. Also, have you noticed that if a student dislikes a teacher, it affects the student's attention span on that subject and by extension affects their performance in that subject? That takes me back to Mr. Emmanuel. There was never a dull moment in this man's classes despite the fact that he teaches one of the subjects students term 'boring'. Muslims or Islamic students who saw how he explained the topics in Christian Religious Studies and gesticulates always snuck into his classes so as not to be left out of the fun that is usua

In life, there are times when opportunities are either given to us or handed down to us. Opportunities given are the ones you get NOT because you are related or affiliated to the the giver. Opportunities handed down are the ones you get BECAUSE OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP or affiliation to the giver. Some have been given opportunities that has turned them into billionaires. Maybe all they needed was capital to bring their ideas into reality. They get the money and boom! They become rich. This happened because they did not waste the opportunity they were given. They used it well, and become successful as a result. Many people have gotten some huge opportunities that they've wasted.
