 Emotional intelligence is very powerful and essential, yet undervalued in our society and among people. The importance of emotional intelligence in all interpersonal relationships cannot be over emphasized. Let's take a look at different works of life and the importance of emotional intelligence to thrive in them.  🔑 1.   This is a WAKE UP CALL for everyone. The picture attached to this write up is the picture of a girl I will like to refer to as El (real name withheld). I told her guardian to help me take the picture during one of my counselling (therapy) session with El. Before El's guardian took the picture I already told her that I will use it on our page. But I told the guardian I don't want El's face to be seen, so she took the picture from El's back view. This was done intentionally to protect El interest & privacy. At the time of this counselling/therapy session done, El was 12 years old. El is a girl enrolled in a boarding school by her mum who resides outside the country. In the said boarding school, she has a school mother and her school mother has a group of friends. I will like to refer to them as a sect or a cult. This is because during my finding I realize that they always target young girls who have parents abroad and they extort them. So, El became a target...

 One of the lessons I have learnt in life is that "It's not all gifts that should be accepted". Some gifts are given to lure you into trouble. Some are traps to make you fall or demote you.  Some people are sent of the enemy to cut short your glorious destiny. And what do they use? GIFTS! THE MOTIVE behind every gift given is what DETERMINES WHETHER such GIFT IS WORTHY OF ACCEPTANCE OR NOT.  Some have been lured into witchcraft because of a gift. Some have been deceived into becoming addicted to one vice or the other through a gift. Others have their lives monitored or controlled because of a gift they received which they were never suppose to.   I remember very well when a minister mounted the altar with the intention of talking about church members' appearance. She was so judgemental. She said something similar to this: "Some of you, you come to church, you paint your face. It is not good. It is not acceptable before God"....  So, she decided to back up her claim with a Biblical reference. Immediately she opened and started reading the scripture, I saw the confusion on her face. She was firstly confused, then she made me confuse because I started to wonder why she was confused 😂 She was perplexed. Focus on your responsibility towards your children in parenting them. Don't try to compete with other parents through the kind of things you can provide for your children.  Do your best in catering for the children God has blessed you with but don't go out of your way.  Don't buy them things you can't afford just because your neighbour bought gifts for their own children.  No matter how young your children are, note that they are watching you.   Through your parenting, they can learn different lessons like contentment, satisfaction, good attitude and so on.  On the other hand, they can also learn bad lessons like, greed, covetousness, lies, stealing etc.  If you develop the habit of giving your children everything they see with their friends, it will affect them negatively over time.  One, they won't learn independence Two, they won't be contented Three, They will start exhibiting traits of greed and or covetousness.   They may do everything (incl...

  I just witnessed something now and my heart broke. A man got a bad news call while driving. The caller told him that his younger brother died. As a result the man driving had an accident.  I have some things to say about this. A moral we can all derive one lesson or two from. This message is to those people who are fond of calling people to relay bad news to them INSENSITIVELY. . .  First and foremost, if you don't have a choice but to give bad news through the phone to someone, ask questions before you do. Questions like "Where are you?" or/and "Are you driving?" or/and "Is someone with you?". The reason why you need to ask all or some of these questions is simple. 👉Your caution can save a life. . .  Don't break a bad news to a person without considering the state of their mind, health or circumstance they are in.  I remember when my youngest child was still one year and some months old. She used to sing to me and say: "Mummy, roll it up, roll it up.  Roll it up and let it go. Excellent! Excellent!  You are the best And your future is bright". Well, I loved the song. That is simply because, though I am an adult, I believe in a bright future.  REMINISCING now, I realize that this week is one of the best weeks I have had. Deeper still in thought, I had to admit to my self that MY EXPECTATIONS WHERE VERY HIGH this week. In life, there are times when opportunities are either given to us or handed down to us. Opportunities given are the ones you get NOT because you are related or affiliated to the the giver.  That you are rich is not enough reason to spoil your children's life and future with the money. There is nothing wrong with pampering your child from time to time, but don't turn it into a norm. It will have negative effect on them in the long run.  Help them to know that MONEY IS WORKED FOR AND SHOULDN'T BE SQUANDERED. It is good to reminisce sometimes. You know?  Think deep and count your blessings? This helps you to value the things you have enjoyed or are still enjoying. Then you will realize you have reasons to be thankful. I read the story of someone who wasn't able to urinate for days and how it caused serious problems. When you go to the toilet and pass waste (faeces and urine) seamlessly, don't see it as your right. Remember that some people's prayer point is that they be able to urinate or defecate. People's inability to fart (mess or pollute - Nigeria slang) is a big deal. Make your findings well, to fart is a blessing. We take sleep for granted because we do not realize what those suffering from insomnia (inability to sleep) have to go through. Our breathing is not hindered.   Don't allow what you are passing through affect your character negatively. So many people become resentful because of their challenges. They have allowed what they are passing through alter their personality. Some become more harsh, easily angered or vexed. Some people's character is changed into being ill tempered or rude. This is not commendable at all.  You have to make a conscious effort to be sure that your attitude is not altered no matter what. That is where self control comes in. Be in control of your emotions no matter the situation; don't transfer aggression to innocent people around you.
