ARE YOU AN ACCUSER

I remember very well when a minister mounted the altar with the intention of talking about church members' appearance. She was so judgemental.

She said something similar to this: "Some of you, you come to church, you paint your face. It is not good. It is not acceptable before God"....

So, she decided to back up her claim with a Biblical reference. Immediately she opened and started reading the scripture, I saw the confusion on her face. She was firstly confused, then she made me confuse because I started to wonder why she was confused 😂

She was perplexed.

She read Luke 6:37

"Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned...".

From her expression, it was clear that that was not the part of the Bible she intended to read. But I believe God wanted her to read out loud her own scolding and reprimand.

And it was immediate. 😂

Another instance was when another woman condemned the dressing of a teenager who wore trousers. The teenager was well covered but this woman found fault in her dressing.

Other women went to intervene and when the fault-finding woman was gesticulating, while trying to justify her actions, she mistakenly revealed the jean trousers under her wrapper.

The women that went to talk to her pointed it out immediately that she was guilty of the same thing she condemned.

That day, she couldn't defend herself successfully.

She judged and she was judged instantly.

Other times, it may be that someone  condemns another person's work; thinking they can do better.

Or you just look down on others because you are more privileged than they are. All these attitudes are wrong.

You have not been made a judge over someone else's life.

So, STOP IT.

📌If you have a mandate to be a model to others, do it responsibly ;laying good examples.

📌If you have the responsibility to correct, do it in love, not judgmentally.

📌If you have to scold, do it with edification in mind, not with condemnation.

These and many more are ways to be a light in a dark world. There are enough troubles in the world as it is, don't add your own to people's life by being their accuser.

Live and let's live.
