CAPTURING THE FUTRE NOW!

IT IS WORTHY OF NOTE THAT MOST PEOPLE LIVE THEIR LIVES WITHOUT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES; NO VISION, nothing they desire to achieve. They just live every day as it comes, they flow with time and life. It is where ever life's wind blows them that they go. THIS IS NOT A HEALTHY WAY TO LIVE, IF YOUR LIFE WILL BE MEANINGFUL. This is not only referring to the adolescents, teenagers or youths. There are so many people in their 40s or 50s that still have no vision. Have a vision. VISION is the ability to capture the future in the present. You should know what you want to be in the future and then start working towards it now. There is a future for you as long as you are still alive. The Bible says in the book of Habakkuk 2:2, “Write the vision and make it plain… “. WHEN YOU SPECIFY WHAT YOUR VISION IS, YOU RUN WITH IT. So, every decision you make now, every plan, every purpose, will point you to that vision. Sometimes, you don't need to have it all sorted out all at once. The objectives yo

LET ME SHARE AN EXPERIENCE WITH YOU: Several years ago when I received my call-up letter for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), I was posted to a Public Secondary School to teach. I was to teach CRS. That was how I got my first Official Classroom Teaching Experience. I taught classes in SSS 1 to SSS 3. I ENJOYED TEACHING THE PUPILS BUT THAT JOB WAS CHALLENGING and I will tell you why. Usually when a corps member is posted to a Secondary School to teach, he/she does the job of an assistant teacher; assisting the real teacher (the subject teacher). The subject teacher is supposed to be the boss; he/she owns the job, but delegates to the corps member. In my own case, the school I was posted to didn't have a CRS teacher so I was the major and only teacher. I had to learn how do my job without anyone putting me through: I had to write lesson notes without guidance, I had to enter into the class and teach without being monitored and I had to mark the pupils’ notes. Take note, all these

WHEN MERE WORDS DEFINE

Some time ago, a mechanic came to do repairs on the vehicle in our family compound and I was present. I noticed the mechanic was extra respectful towards me. Yes, I expected the respect because I am older but not to the extent he was willingly giving it. Though, I didn't say anything, but I knew something must have happened to prompt that magnitude of accord he was giving me. I later got to know through my younger brother that he and the mechanic talked about me and my brother told him things that got even me flattered when I heard. He said the mechanic was like “wow”, hence the respect. I learnt some lessons from the incident above that I will like to share with you: Whatever you say about people affects their image and how people see them; so be mindful of what you say about others. Humans tend to believe the things you tell them about others even if those things are not proven to be true. The words you speak are seeds, whether the hearer likes it or not; those words germinate an

Sub-topic: LESSONS FROM THE GARDEN OF EDEN Listen, when you or when others make a mistake and you don’t learn from it, you fall into the trap of making that same mistake again and you keep moving in a cycle of mistakes. SO, LEARN FROM YOUR OWN MISTAKES AND DON’T FORGET TO LEARN FROM THE MISTAKES OF OTHERS ALSO. As a result of the above fact, I will be drawing out some lessons that you can learn from the mistakes made in the Garden of Eden. For those who don’t know the story, here is a summary: Adam, the first man created was placed in a garden with all the things he needed. But he was alone, so, God created a companion and he chose that companion (Eve) as wife. The serpent deceived Eve into disobeying God. She ate the forbidden fruit and gave it to her husband to eat as well. THE LESSONS ***************** Someone once said, ‘If Adam was spending time with Eve, she wouldn’t have spoken with the serpent…’.well that is the person’s op
