PEDOPHILIA

Pedophilia means sexual feelings directed towards children or simply put, pedophilia is when an adult or adolescent is sexually attracted to children. It is a Psychiatric disorder and there is nothing normal about it.

This anomaly is becoming too rampant.
Almost every day in the news, we hear of pedophiles defiling children. This has to stop! It is disgusting and annoying. Why should an adult be sexually attracted to a child? A child? This is proof enough that a pedophile is not well mentally and needs to seek professional help.

This help can be sought through a counsellor, a psychotherapist and or a psychologist.

A counsellor is the one who helps you address your problems in a positive way by helping you to clarify the issues, explore options, develop strategies and increase self awareness.

Now, a psychotherapist is a trained professional who assists those who are suffering with stress, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, negative behavior patterns, debilitating feelings, and various other mental conditions.

A psychologists on the other hand, study cognitive, emotional, and social processes and behavior by observing, interpreting, and recording how people relate to one another and to their environments. They use their findings to help improve processes and behaviors.

Psychologists seek to understand and explain thoughts, emotions, feelings, and behavior. They use techniques such as observation, assessment, and experimentation to develop theories about the beliefs and feelings that influence individuals. It is worthy of note that psychologists often gather information and evaluate behavior through controlled laboratory experiments, psychoanalysis, or psychotherapy. They also may administer personality, performance, aptitude, or intelligence tests. They look for patterns of behavior or relationships between events, and they use this information when testing theories in their research or when treating patients.

A pedophile may need the assistance of one of these professionals listed above or sometimes, all.
After seeking professional help and yet a pedophile is still not turning a new leaf, then such a person must seek spiritual advice; counsel or help.

A pedophile is sick; mentally and or spiritually and must be treated as such. If you are attracted sexually to children, seek help! It is not normal.

THIS IS ANOTHER REASON WHY PARENTS (FOSTER OR BIOLOGICAL) HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF TEACHING THE CHILDREN SEX EDUCATION. I WILL KEEP SAYING IT, SEX EDUCATION IS KEY!

Apart from that, THERE OUGHT to be punishment meted out to these child-abusers; so that it will serve as deterrence for the others.

Conclusion:

Pedophilia is a mental health disorder and prepubertal children are the victims.

Previous investigations have indicated that the ratio of sex offenders against female children versus offenders against male children is approximately 2:1, while the ratio of gynephiles to androphiles among the general population is approximately 20:1
