THE COUNSELLOR

I COUNSEL.

THAT IS THE MINISTRY GOD HAS CALLED ME INTO.

More than 20 years ago, as a teenager, I noticed that I love to give 'free' advice to my friends and younger ones, even older ones who were willing to listen . This made me command so much respect in the area where I grew up then, even till now.

I settled disputes and gave Counsel. I was a 'guide' and with the help of God, MADE IMPACT.

I didn't do the things normal teenagers did. This must have been what mummy Mary Iyabo Faluyi-Somoye saw in me that made her refer to me as 'a very mature teenager' when she was discussing with daddy Olusola Omonijo. This must have been what aunty Kemi Aladesanmi (Kemi Dan-Owolabi) saw in me that made her choose #me to go to camp for Hi-crusaders (Foursquare teens) as their acting counsellor when she couldn't follow us immediately.

That year, I became a teenager-teens-counsellor.

People like Oluwatosin Da-syne Marcel-Falase gave me tough time though , oya deny it (but she was instrumental to my leadership training, she made me realise that to be a leader is not easy) ... People like Lizzy Uwada-Folorunso corporated sha . I was spotted in camp that year by a minister who gave me materials to build me more. He asked "Who are you? There must be more to you... For you to be sent as a counselor for teens being a teenager too?

Wow! Camping, that year was a whole new rewarding experience for me. Thanks aunty Kemi Dan-Owolabi for the opportunity.

As a teenager, I chose to go to the children's department to be a teacher; I felt I was needed more there, instead of joining the ushers or being a church choir (though I was in Rhema Voice; a singing ministry). So, you see, I have always been a teacher, no be today, e don taaay .

I reminisce today because I have to acknowledge those people who God used to make me who he wants me to be. I am a COUNSELLOR today, an Author, a Vlogger, a Teacher... Without you all, I wouldn't be all these . Aunty Bose Nwachi, I still sing, but not professionally, nevertheless, I desire to wax at least a track so that all your voice training and tutorials in Rhema Voice will not go to waste.
