A RICH MIND; YOUR BEST INVESTMENT

Image
Recently, an intellectual person  said to me "Elizabeth, you have a very rich mind". And I thought to my self, "Oh! Wow! So I have a very rich mind"?  It felt good to be told something I didn't realize about myself because I am a sulker for self-mastery and self-discovery 🙂.  So, I wanted to know why the person says I have a very rich mind and what having a rich mind entails, so I went on a research. And here is what I found (I like to share with you): A rich mind is a mind that is always rich in knowledge and ideas.  No matter how isolated a rich minded person is, their mind will never be alone. It will never be bored or feel lonely. It will be rich of knowledge and ideas. It is strengthened from within and empowered. It has the ability to get instant solution to problems, improvise and bring forth brilliant ideas. That’s the power of a rich mind. Look at it this way. Knowledge is the key resource of the mind. A mind full of knowledge is rich, while a mind th

A NEGLECTED ASPECT OF HEALTH PART 2

The last time I talked about two aspects of human health that is not taken seriously: I mentioned MENTAL HEALTH and DIET. I treated Mental Health already. IT IS TIME TO TALK ABOUT DIET. And I am so excited.  Several times, when I get the opportunity to discuss health as a nutritionist, I tell people;  "WHAT MOST PEOPLE NEED FOR THEIR HEALTH TO IMPROVE AND FOR THEM TO FEEL BETTER IS NOT A DOCTOR, THEY NEED A DIETICIAN OR A NUTRITIONIST".  It is painful that many people are not concerned whether what they put into their mouth is supposed to be used as food or not, as long as they eat and they are full. What kills most people is what they eat and how they eat what they eat. That may sound a little harsh but that is the truth and THE TRUTH MUST BE TOLD.  So, what is diet?  In nutrition, diet is the sum of food consumed by a person or other organism.  The word diet is also often used to imply the use of specific intake of nutrition for health or weight-management reasons.  But for

Can you spot me in the picture among Corps (NYSC) members? Yes, exactly, that's me right there in dark sun shades forming oh baby.  That picture you see was taken 9 years ago instead of 15 years ago. Do you want to know why? Read on. Actually, I DIDN'T GAIN ADMISSION UNTIL 6 YEARS AFTER I LEFT SECONDARY SCHOOL. Let me be more practical, I was a teenager when I left secondary school but I didn't enter into the university until I was in my 20s.  The reason was not because I was a dull student. It wasn't because I didn't have my O'level papers passed or completed. The reason was not because I was failing in my JAMB examination. The REASON I DIDN'T GO FURTHER IN MY EDUCATION FOR 6 YEARS WAS SIMPLY BECAUSE OF 'LACK OF KNOWLEDGE' . I lacked the necessary exposure to the knowledge that could move me forward.  There were so many information I wasn't privy to that stunted my academic growth. And that costed me 6 whole YEARS of my life: 72 months! 312 week
