IMPACT

Very few films can drive home lessons that makes me pause and do some critical, analytic and mind thundering reasoning about life, team work, progress or vision. The movie; 'Rise' is one of them.

"Rise" is based on the real-life story of the Antetokounmpo family who lived in Greece.

The family name is actually Adetokunbo.

Adetokunbo is a Nigerian name from the Yoruba descent. It means 'The King has returned from across the seas'.

The name Adetokunbo was later misspelt as 'Antetokounmpo' after going through the Greek auto-correct merciless screening 🤣.

The movie is majorly about the  brothers @giannis_an34, @thanasis_ante43 and @kostas__ante13 , the first trio of brothers to become NBA champions in league history - Giannis and Thanasis while playing for the Milwaukee Bucks and Kostas as a Los Angeles Laker.

I was so touched by the series of events that took place in this movie. It is worthy of note that It is based on a true life story. And I am a sucker for real life story movies. For me, they are far more touching than fiction 😊

If you are about to embark on a project and you need inspiration, I will advise you to watch this movie.

From this film, I learnt more about what the word 'family' means. I learnt about making sacrifices and taking risks. I see what focus and unity can help one achieve.

Dedication, determination, team work, vision and many more were the lessons the sons of the Adetokunbo family learnt from their parents. The team work portrayed in this movie is so tangible that you can touch it! Really! You can touch it with your bare hands! I mean wow! It is mind blowing.

Kudos to all whose hands were on deck to create such a life transforming movie.

Let me stop here. I hope you received impact. You may need to watch as well to derive your own lessons. And when you are done, don't forget to thank me 😉.
