SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS

"Please LORD, bless me, even if not for my sake, bless me for the sake of the people I desire to help financially in Jesus' name. Amen.

That is part of my prayer point.

Several times, because of the nature of what I do on Life Skills Counsel , I receive calls or messages of people soliciting for financial help.

I give if I have, if I don't, I politely turn them down.

I was thinking to myself how much more help I would have been able to render to people financially if I had more than I do right now.

The reason why I pray the above prayer is because I desire to do more. But I need to have more to do more.

Lessons to Learn

The ministry of help is not child's play. If you want to help other people you need to be capable to do so.

The capacity you desire to help others has to be the capacity you have also reached and exceeded. You can't give what you don't have.

The reason why I prayed that prayer is NOT because I lack the finances to help from time to time. I DON'T.

I pray because I have not started rendering help in the capacity I want.

There is a level I desire to get to in being a financial blessing to others that I have not gotten to.

I want my capability to increase.

Nevertheless, for now I don't give beyond my capacity.

That is because, in the ministry of help, you shouldn't render the help you don't have. You can't help others when you are still striving to get your footing.

Help yourself first, then you can help others. I see so many people being people-pleasers: rendering the kind of help they don't have.

Don't get me wrong, I am not discouraging you from helping others, but help yourself first. Or else, both you and the person you are trying to help will fall off together.

Before you can lift someone else up, stand well first.
