WHY DO SOME PEOPLE FIND IT SO DIFFICULT TO SAY THE WORDS: "I'M SORRY"?

Image
Like, seriously, it baffles me. In fact, it amazes me. Maybe because I do not see admitting my fault as a big deal. I like to admit when I am wrong and apologize when need be. That is why it amazes me when people will rather lose years of meaningful relationship and friendship than say the simple words 'I am sorry'.  It is worthy of note though, that admitting your wrong and saying you are sorry to the offended party doesn't stop there. It goes beyond just saying it, you have to actually mean it when you say it. Some people say they are sorry just because they want that episode to pass. Then, they go and commit the same blunder again or even worse the next time. That is not good at all. I use the phrase 'not good' for lack of a stronger one.  See, saying sorry for your wrong doing (when you are sincere) does not reduce your person, worth or importance in any way. As far as I'm concerned, I think it increases your worth. It shows you have admitted your wrong and

HARD WORK AND RESILIENCE

Image
WHO SAYS HARD WORK, COMMITMENT AND RESILIENCE DOESN'T PAY?  The celebrated author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, has received the highest honour of Harvard university, the W. E. B. Du Bois Medal. She received the medal at a ceremony on Thursday the 6th of October 2022. What are you doing today that you feel like after putting your hard work, you are still invisible? Don't give up! Keep pushing. Remember the old saying that "Rome was not built in a day". The magnificence of Rome is a result of years of hard work and labour. So, keep working prayerfully. Be assured, you will achieve your desired outcome.  We wish you all the best. © Life Skills Counsel  #lifeskillscounsel  #hardworkpayingoff #keeppushing  #dedication

WHY DOES PACKAGED FOOD BLOAT?

Image
I wanted to prepare a meal using a sachet of tomato paste then, I realized the package was bloated. I knew something was wrong so, I didn't use it.  I didn't stop there though. I was inquisitive. I wanted to know why some packaged products get bloated like that. (Below is the picture of the bloated sachet of tomato paste). I have the result of my findings and you will be amazed at what I found out.           👇  👇  👇  👇  👇  👇 *********************************** WHY DOES FOOD PACKAGING BLOAT? When you purchase food or juice pouches, you might notice that a few pouches are bloated. Generally, there is a warning written on pouches that if a packet is bloated, it should not be purchased. Bloating is a clear indication that bacteria are present inside the packet. Bacteria feed on the contents of the pouch and produce gas. Since this gas cannot escape from the sealed packet, it accumulates inside and causes the pouch to bloat. Bacteria can sneak into the food packaging in sever

TIME, THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND ME

Image
TIME CAN BE MORE QUALITATIVE How qualitative are the things you do with your time? Do you spend your time on frivolous things?  Some of these frivolous things can be  smoking, womanizing, gossiping, gambling etc. Some people use the bulk of their time doing the useless things and then, they dedicate the remnant of their time to the important things. That is what I call 'Misplacement of Priority'. In one of my books titled "The Higher Calling" I gave an example there from the Bible of Martha and Mary: It explains the term, 'Misplacement of Priority '. We have to be careful so we don't spend our time on irrelevant things under the guise of 'being busy'. Those who make the best of their time are the most fruitful people. Being fruitful is one of the reasons why man was created. It is part of man's purpose. It is also a commandment from God.   Robert Kiyosaki the author of a book called 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' said: "Although both dads

YOUR PERSPECTIVE

Image
The way you see or view things and circumstances may most times differ from the way others view or see those same things. David saw Goliath as an opportunity to display the power of God while other Israelites saw Goliath as an insurmountable problem.  One person may see a challenge as a problem that must be avoided while another may see that same difficulty as an opportunity for progress. A very good example is given by a man of God I respect so much about the management of a company.  The company management sent one of their staff to check the Economy viability of a particular community to know whether a shoe factory will thrive there.  The first person that was sent reported thus: "The inhabitants there were not wearing shoes, so a shoe factory will be a waste of resources". He said it is not a good place to establish a shoe factory. And that if the factory is established, the company staff will be the only ones using the shoes manufactured by them 😯.  A second person wa

GIVING BIRTH TO, OR NURTURING CHILDREN IN DIASPORA

Image
GIVING BIRTH TO, OR NURTURING CHILDREN IN DIASPORA (OUTSIDE YOUR COUNTRY) IS NOT AN EXCUSE NOT TO TEACH THEM YOUR LANGUAGE OR CULTURE! Even if they are Britons, Americans, Canadians by birth, it does not change the fact that they are still citizens of your mother/father land by blood. I respect this particular 'T' family (name withheld) and I will like to use them as a case study.  This family in question is a Yoruba family and they gave birth to and trained their children abroad. Nevertheless, I was impressed to see that the children could speak the Yoruba language and they know the Yoruba culture despite been born and brought up abroad. When I saw them here in Nigeria, they kneel or prostrate to greet their elders according to the Yoruba tradition.  I believe a whole lot of parents in diaspora should take a cue from them! LEARN FROM THE 'T' FAMILY!  Many people are being sold off in their own father/mother land because they were not taught the culture or language.  P

OLUWATOBILOBA

Image
OLUWATOBILOBA Ayomide Amusan is a Nigerian track and field athlete who specializes in the 100 metres hurdle and also competes as a sprinter.  During her last 100 metres run at the World Athletic Championship, she made it in record time of 12 seconds, setting for herself, Nigeria and the entire world a new record. She is a 25 years old lady born by teacher parents on the 23rd April 1997.   In 2016, Amusan twitted this on Twitter "Unknown now, but soon, I will be UNFORGETTABLE... I will Persist until I SUCCEED...".  That was 6 years ago.  She was just 19 years old then. But SHE WAS A 19 YEARS OLD LADY WITH A VISION. She was positive, resilient determined and most importantly DISCIPLINED.  2013, the athlete was disqualified at World Athletics U18 Championships in Donetsk, Ukraine, for lane infringement during the 200m semi-finals but she didn't allow that to deter or discourage her.  The disqualification instead made her think of other ways to succeed.  She demanded to know

THE CONVERSATION THAT ENSUED BETWEEN I AND MY 5 YEARS OLD CHILD

Image
The following conversation ensued between I and my 5 years old child when I was done bathing her one early morning.  When I asked her to come and take her bath that morning, she said she wanted to have her bath much later when the other kids would have theirs. But she is the youngest and I wanted to bathe her myself, so I INSISTED.  And serious cry started 😭. 😂.  When I was done bathing her, she said: "Why was I even crying when you told me to come and bath?"  Then, I responded: "So, even you didn't know why you were crying". Child: (smiling) "Bathing is good. It makes me fresh!"  Mother: (I just shook my head and laughed)  From the conversation above I was able to deduce that:   Children sometimes cry or throw tantrums for NO GOOD REASON.  Can you imagine she asked me why she was crying? 😂  Maybe her mind just told her: 'Cry' and she decided to cry without asking: "Why should I cry?" 😜😂😂😂. Another lesson I learnt is that when
